The Logistics Managers Group (LMG) was originally known as the Freight Users Group (FUG) and was formed by the Victorian Transport Association in 1990. Its charter is to further the development of logistics practices amongst company members. In particular it focuses on issues including:

• IT Systems
• Technology
• Warehousing trends
• Logistics practices
• Government interface
• Industrial Issues

In recent years there has been an increased interest by government in logistics and the need to manage the interfaces between modes, enterprises and also industry compliance. The LMG meets regularly and has a range of activities planned for 2008.
